Requirements:
1. Education: Master's Degree in Composition, Reading, Rhetoric, English or related field.
2. Experience: Successful experience teaching college-preparatory developmental language arts (writing and reading); or evidence of instructional experience/preparation that promises success in teaching college-preparatory developmental language arts (reading and/or writing), to adult learners.
3. Graduate course work in reading, composition, adult literacy and/or Rhetoric.
Job duties:
1. Provide instruction in developmental Literacy, Reading and Writing courses, especially Writing 60 (Rhetoric & Critical Thinking I), Writing 65 (Rhetoric & Critical Thinking II), Writing 75 (Basic Writing I) and WR 95 (Basic Writing II) in accordance with Humanities Dept. Writing Program curricula and course-specific learning outcomes, as well as relevant College instructional policies applicable to all instructional faculty.
2. Be willing and able to accept teaching assignments in day and/or evening instructional hours, and to travel to and from assigned teaching locations at Redmond North Campus and/or on Bend campus, as required by Humanities Dept. Writing Program scheduling and staffing needs.
3. Work cooperatively with an instructional team, be willing to accept direction from the departmental chair and experienced program faculty.
4. Be accessible and responsive to student, departmental and College communiqués
5.Teaching performance will be evaluated by students and peers according to current instructional administrative practices applicable to part-time instructors
