Job Summary:  REQUIREMENTS: Valid Oregon Drivers License to drive company vehicles and a CLASS II WATER TREATMENT CERTIFICATION, a CLASS II WATER DISTRIBUTION CERTIFICATE, a CONVENTIONAL FILTRATION TREATMENT ENDORSEMENT.

EMPLOYER PREFERS: Computer literacy and CROSS CONNECTION CONTROL INSPECTOR CERTIFICATE, and the ability and desire to upgrade to CLASS III licenses.

JOB DUTIES: Operate and maintain water purification plant and pump stations. Monitor collection, production, and distribution system and direct responsibility for water production. Collect water samples and run laboratory tests daily, prepare required reports. Read and record charts, meters, and gauges. Adjust valves, pumps, etc. for correct operations. Maintain special equipment such as chlorinator. Clean and maintain buildings and grounds. Surveillance of water distribution, reservoir levels, and filter effectiveness, calculate chemical dosage rates; apply this information to the effective operation of the system. Inspect, clean, and wash filters. Meet with the public when water problems occur. Direct the operation of quality control in giving specific instructions as to the operation of the sources and treatment plant system; includes pumping, treatment, inspections. Laboratory control work, routine preventive maintenance and housekeeping of plant and equipment. Compliance with water quality testing as required by regulatory agencies. Read water meters monthly. Operate a variety of equipment, including daily driving of company pickup, operation of John Deere backhoe. Flush water mains when required. Locate water lines, dig and install lines and meters.

HOURS: 40 hours per week with two consecutive days off (either Friday & Saturday or Sunday and Monday) . Be available for emergencies on-call.

PAY: $40,000 - $45,000 per year depending on experience and qualifications.
