Job Summary:  Title: Product Development Engineer
Location: USA-Oregon, Hillsboro
The candidate will be part of the Product Development Engineering (PDE), Design validation (DV) group. Responsibilities will include working in pre silicon and post silicon phases of the product development cycle to drive the testability and manufacturability of silicon designs from DEG. Design validation focuses on certifying the health of a design using sophisticated metrologies on live silicon. The candidate will be working with Design Engineers, Quality & Reliability Engineers, Product Engineers, Test Engineers (ATM/VF), and *V organizations to achieve the objectives.
Pre silicon responsibilities cover driving DFx definition into the design to enable more effective post silicon DV coverage as well as cheaper HVM testability solutions. Candidate is then expected to translate the DFx capabilities into ATE solutions (test code, data analysis tools, external instrumentation) for post silicon execution and develop validation plans needed to achieve certification. Candidate may also be required to work in the behavioral model environment to develop tests for post silicon usage models. Post silicon responsibilities include execution of the validation plans, identifying silicon vs. test bugs through rigorous analysis and driving appropriate changes to the design and/or specifications to achieve certification.
Ability to work well in a team environment, problem solving and excellent communication skills are a must. Candidates must have a minimum of a Master of Science or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Physics. Software skill set should include a minimum of C/C and PERL. VHDL, circuit analyst testing tools a plus. Working knowledge of manufacturing tester capabilities, Design-For-Test (DFT) principles, & microprocessor architecture is also desirable.
