Job Summary:  Excellent opportunity with a growing company for a processor of protein food products.

Requirements:
*3-4 years meat processing experience
* Vacuum packing experience
* Experience in all aspects of processing, to include: harvesting, cutting and processing
* Previous experience in food preparation and recipe creation for a variety of meats
* Must have experience and thorough knowledge of working in and the operations of USDA processing plant
* Must be able to break down various types of meats, not just box meat
* HACCP background (Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point Process) and knowledge of USDA regulations
* Strong math skills
* Previous supervisory experience
* Must be able to tolerate the strong smell of spices
* Knowledge of smoking, brining, injecting, and cooker operations
* Knowledge of animal science and rendering
* Knowledge of in-line processing
* Employer conducts pre-employment drug screen

Preferred:
* 4 year degree in Foods Science strongly preferred - employer will consider education as substitute for required experience
* Bilingual spanish

Duties and Responsibilities:
* Comply with all company policies, procedures, and government regulations
* Perform meat cutting and processing functions
* Process recipes according to customer specifications
* Analyze data
* Prepare reports
* Perform product yields
* Future responsibilities may include harvesting

The ideal candidate will:
- Be an energetic, team player who wants to grow with us!
- Work in a fast-paced, but efficient and controlled manner.
- Perform all physical aspects of the meat cutter duties, including but not limited to standing, bending, lifting, and walking.
- Lift to a height of 4 feet, items weighing up to 100 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Work for periods of up to 8-10 hours in 50 degree temperatures. controlled atmosphere for sanitation purposes
- Have a strong work ethic, be a team player, be clean and professional, demonstrate attention to detail, and be skilled in the following: time management, multi-tasking, prioritizing, problem solving, and excellent communication
