Job Summary:  QUALIFICATIONS:
*Knowledge of standards for security, ethics, confidentiality, rules of conduct and professionalism.
*Demonstrated knowledge of the '12 Core Competencies and Functions of Alcohol and Drug Counselors'; screening, intake, client orientation, assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, counseling (group, family, couple, individual), client/family education, case management, consultation and referral, discharge planning, reports and record keeping.
*Demonstrates skills and abilities in essential job functions, including but not limited to, client screening, intake procedures, client orientation, crisis intervention, restricted 1:1 and group counseling, coordination and scheduling of clients outside appointments.
*Assist receptionist with telephones and answering incoming inquiries regarding agency.
*Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.
*Have a good general working knowledge of clinical record management systems.
*Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
*Hold current CPR and First Aide Certifications.
*For individuals recovering from substance abuse related disorder, said individuals must be able to demonstrate continuous sobriety under nonresidential, independent living conditions for the immediate past two (2) years.

Duties Include:
*Primary responsibility to supervise clients and unit schedule.
*Demonstrate the competencies required of this position, including practice of program policies and procedures for implementing these duties.
*Demonstrate standards for security, ethics, confidentiality, rules of conduct, and professionalism consistent with ABTS, ACCBO and OAR.
*Provide support in treatment of clients with substance related disorders, including knowledge and practice of various therapeutic and counseling techniques, ability to understand and respond to DIRECTION and SUPERVISION from clinical team.
*Provide clear accurate documentations of events occurring while on duty.
*Ability to provide some clinical documentation within clinical records.
*Develop and present education components to clients, families and community.
*Promote a positive response to change, with clients as well as with other staff memebers.
*Promote by example a lifestyle consistent with the principles promoted generally in recovery.
*Ability to recognize and set priorities.
Ability to manage a heavy workload, including coordination with support and management staff and the ability to work in a high paced environment.

Hours and days may vary and include on call time.
