REQUIREMENTS: Proficient keyboard skills in order to accompany worship
Highly experienced in accompanying choirs. Experience playing a pipe organ for worship and good understanding of all its settings and use. Familiarity with a traditional style of Christian worship and liturgies. Ability to play complex rhythms
Good communication skills in order to coordinate with soloists, Director of Church Music, Pastor, and Choir. Sight reading skills recommended. Sense of humor a plus.
JOB DUTIES: Play organ/piano for all worship services (i.e. Sunday 8:30 and 11:00 AM; Wednesdays during Lent and Advent; all special worship events). Accompany choir at Wednesday rehearsals and Sunday worship. Accompany choir at concerts and on tours. Accompany Hardt singers and other singing groups during summer months. Accompany children's/youth choirs when needed, including Christmas programs. Select and play seasonally appropriate prelude and postlude music. Coordinate rehearsals with soloists for special music. Practice liturgy with pastor, intern, or lay worship assistants when appropriate. Attend Tuesday staff meetings and monthly worship committee meetings.
HOURS: 10 hours per week on average.
PAY: Salary of $625 - 725 per month.
WORKSITE: Coos Bay.
