REQUIREMENTS
* Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education
* 2 year experience in an Early Childhood Program from 3-6 years old
* Bilingual English / Spanish and bicultural
* Excellent oral and written communication skills in both languages
* Current CPR, First Aid and Food Handlers certification
* Valid driver's license and good driving record to make home visits
* Pass a background check
PREFERRED
* Teaching Certificate
* Create an effective classroom learning environment when working with children
* Handle numerous interpersonal relationships in a confidential and professional manner
* Possess excellent organizational, administrative, problem-solving and conflict-resolving skills
* Work independently with minimum or non-supervision
JOB DUTIES
* Plan and develop a developmentally and culturally appropriate curriculum with the multi sensory approach and / or multiple intelligences approach.
* Observe and fill out individual progress reports daily, monthly and quarterly for each child based on the yearly plan developed.
* Hold Parent / Teacher conferences for each child quarterly to discuss progress and new goals to meet the needs of the children and families.
* Work in cooperation with the child's parents and other early childhood professionals in a manner consistent with the NAEYC Standards and child care regulations.
* Ensure classrooms meet sanitation requirements at all times
* Implement a Harvard based multiple intelligences curriculum
* Ensure program runs smoothly
* Test music for the network
* Follow set curriculum
*Supervise children in playground areas
* Grade children's work
* Coordinate children's progress utilizing a team which includes a child psychologist
* Encourage the importance of the Arts
* Interpersonal skills; friendly attitude, nurturing, cheerful, energetic, high level of patience and creativity
