Job Summary:  Position Qualifications:
* Ability to meet minimum hospital hiring standards.
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent in management and/or Respiratory Therapy preferred.
*Certificate of Registration as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of Oregon.
*Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
* Experience required.

Essential Job Functions:
* Accountable for providing and delivering quality patient care by ensuring compliance with established state, federal, JCAHO, hospital and Cardiopulmonary Services regulations.
* Accountable for espousing a philosophy of care, serving as a clinical role model and setting an example for change and integration of new concepts.
* Accountable for planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating a plan for department education by providing new employee orientation, continuing education, mandatory in-service, skills program and patient education.
* Accountable for planning, implementing, monitoring and managing the annual budget to ensure it is meeting department needs and hospital budgetary guidelines.
* Accountable for evaluating as well as counseling individual employees according to established hospital polices to identify commendations and work deficiencies.
* Accountable for assuring effective communication within the department and with other hospital departments by providing and maintaining open lines of communication.
* Coordinates and oversees the organization wide Cardiopulmonary Services.
