Job Summary:  Position Summary:
Responsible for the analysis and the use of purposeful activity with individuals who are limited by development and disorders of speech, voice, swallowing and related language and hearing disorders to prevent or modify the disorders or to assist individuals in cognition-language and communication skills. The practice of speech - language pathology encompasses evaluation, treatment, consultation and education of patients as well as caregivers.

Position Qualifications:
* Ability to meet minimum hospital hiring standards.
* Graduate of an accredited program with a Masters degree in Speech/Language Pathology or Communication Disorders. Certificate of Clinical Competency by the American Speech-Hearing-Language Association or equivalent course work to meet these standards.
* Current Oregon State license
* One year of experience preferred
* Obtain CPR certification within 3 months of hire.
* Obtain ACLS certification within 6 months of hire preferred.

Essential Job Functions:
* Assumes responsibility for clinical competency and professional development.
* Performs a comprehensive evaluation and develops a Plan of Care.
* Implements the Plan of Care.
* Completes effective, professional and timely documentation.
* Educates patients, families, caregivers and team members.
* Performs Modified Barium Swallow Assessments for dysphagia patients
