Requirements: At least 1 year System Administration for IBM iSeries ( AIX ) and Series ( OS / 400 ) servers. Knowledge of TCP / IP protocols, Unix shells, OS / 400 CL. Familiarity with HACMP, LPAR Administration. Platform management via HMC.
Job Duties: Backup and restoration of data using backup software and NIM server.
Creation of system policies and standards ( guidelines ): Logical volume names. Backup and recovery. User security, and FTP Security. Capacity monitoring, reporting and planning. Performance monitoring and tuning using appropriate tools.
Trouble shooting problems related to IBM platforms ( hardware and software ) working with application teams, IBM and other vendors to identify and correct the problem. Support the success of information systems as a tool for facilitating healthcare improvement activities. Responsible for managing the acquisition, installation, configuration and on going maintenance of the mid range and mainframe computing platforms used across all regions. IBM pSeries / iSeries System Administrator.
Work Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. variable as needed
