REQUIREMENTS: Hold a Bachelor's or Associate's Degree from an Interpreter Education Program or in a related educational field; or achieve a passing score on the EIPA written test. Achieve a passing score of 3.5 or above on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) test; or hold one of the following: Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), National Interpreter Certification (NIC), Certificate of Interpretation (CI), or Certificate of Transliteration (CT). Fluent oral and written communication skills. Hold a valid first aid card. Pass a fingerprint based criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
JOB DUTIES: The Sign Language Interpreter will facilitate communication for hearing impaired child.
HOURS: Half time, student contact days only, begins with the 2009-2010 school year.
PAY: $16.53- $22.67 per hour (rate is based upon the 2008-09 salary schedule).
Length of Contract: Student contract days only
Starting Date: Immediately following closing
WORKSITE: Bay Area.
