Job Description:
System Administrator
Under general supervision, evaluate and maintain servers and SAN storage systems.
Administer and troubleshoot operating system and general data problems on shared software and hardware systems.
Provide technical support for midrange servers and SAN storage systems.
Install, maintain and repair components that may be required to ensure system integrity.
Maintain data, software and hardware security and emergency procedures.
Maintain contact with end users to maximize network/systems utilization.
Perform 2nd level systems support for end users.
Resolve moderately complex systems problems.
Set up user accounts on company's servers and run necessary system backups. Perform disaster recovery tasks.
General Office/Data Center environment supporting over 275 HP servers
Operating in a 100% Windows 2003/2008 environment
Education Required:
Associates degree in Information Systems preferred. BS degree in Computer
Science/Information Systems preferred. Systems administration certification desirable.
Experience Required:
Minimum of 4 years systems administration experience in an operating systems environment.
Experience troubleshooting servers and networks.
Experience performing server installations, configurations and support.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
Good analytical and organizational skills.
Technical writing skills beneficial.
General knowledge of computer technology systems and networks.
Familiarity with servers and various software applications.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
