REQUIREMENTS:
* High school diploma / GED
* At least 2 years experience
* Willingness to work overtime and possible evening and weekend coverage.
JOB DUTIES:
* Follow written procedures (ATIs, IVPs and FATs) and adhere to BP 155 guidelines.
* Apply technical knowledge to clearly communicate complex issues to Engineering and Management personnel.
* Escalate any issues that will jeopardize ship promise dates.
* Perform electro-mechanical testing and verifications using various test equipment, (such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters and measuring devices), to diagnose and troubleshoot system components.
* Troubleshooting and testing systems within standard cycle times.
* Work with Integration Process Engineering to create and improve system quality, checkout test instructions and processes.
* Recommend new approaches to design or test to reduce system cycle times.
* Coordinate activities to resolve system problems that are outside the normal scope of expertise.
* Generate detailed and descriptive Quality Notifications (QN) on defective material, leading to corrective action of the defective material by the supplier.
* Navigate Agile to verify assembly part numbers and revisions, ensure that the Bill of Materials (BOMs) are correct, print out current test instructions, obtain schematics and part drawings to assist in build or troubleshooting.
* Proficient in computer applications (MSWord, Excel, Outlook, and SAP).
* Follow ESD and all safety guidelines.
* Maintain a clean production area.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
EMPLOYER COMMENTS:
The Laser Rail Checkout Technician performs a variety of routine to complex tasks in support of laser rail assembly and test operations. The technician is also responsible to ensure systems conform to published specifications prior to rail completion. This includes managing each rail from start to finish and escalating issues to ensure production plan dates are met. Technicians are expected to be detail-oriented, quality-minded and willing to stop production to fix critical issues.
Aside from rail build and checkout the Technician is responsible for diagnosing rails returned from the field and recommending fixes.
