DescriptionDeveloping and maintaining a research program with funding from federal or private sources addressing health policy and health services research issues of interest to the faculty member. To meet this duty, the faculty member is expected to write and win grants, and to publish scholarly papers; help teach policy and health services-related research methods in the mph program and in other educational programs on campus, and guide student theses; contribute to the service mission of the Department and University including assisting state policy makers, and help to foster the success of the Department and University through collaborative endeavors. The faculty member is expected to regularly attend Division and Department meetings. The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the University missions, goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.

QualificationsThe position requires a doctoral degree in public health, health policy, health services research, health economics or related field, and experience in the conduct of health policy and health services research. Experience with grant writing is also required. Preferred: Established or demonstrated potential to secure external funding for a program of research in health policy and health services research; ability to work collaboratively both within and outside the University.

Schedule and Salary Range1.0 FTE; Salary Range: $80,000-100,000/year; Location: Marquam Hill Campus

Additional DetailsThe Department seeks an Assistant Professor with interests in health policy and health services research. The faculty position conducts programmatic research, teaches classes, and fulfills obligations for service. Successful candidates will bring, or demonstrate the potential for a program of externally funded research focused on health policy and health services research. The position includes diminishing salary support over four years. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply. The faculty member is expected to secure ongoing external support for their research program and to promote and disseminate research findings at the national and international levels. In addition to securing sponsored research funds, the faculty member will be active in collaborative research partnerships with University colleagues, as well as local, state, and federal agencies.
