Job Summary:  Title: Federal Tax Compliance Manager
Location: OR-Beaverton

The heart of Nike is built around one simple idea -- innovate. Whether that innovation is called Nike Air or ACG or Nike Swift or Nike Shox, the principle is the same: think something that nobody has thought before, or improve something that already exists. It's how we create our products, and it's the way we treat the people we work with.
So take chances. Think bigger than the next achiever. Just know one thing. The more you succeed, the higher we'll raise the bar.
But would you really want it any other way?
As our Federal Tax Compliance Manager, you'll work with a team of tax professionals to analyze accounting transactions and to strategically apply tax law to minimize Nike's income tax liability. You'll be responsible for the preparation and review of the consolidated U.S. Federal income tax return; analysis and documentation of book versus tax differences; and the extraction of information from SAP accounting systems. Extensive knowledge of tax systems software is important in this role as you'll maintain and manage our tax return software CorpTax, and liaise with CorpTax reps and IT to address issues. You'll also develop and implement procedural changes and/or process improvements to streamline the tax compliance function. A high degree of accuracy and proven ability to meet deadlines in a time sensitive environment is required. You must be able to successfully manage priorities, coordinate complex projects, and develop and implement solutions to difficult problems. Communication skills are essential to enhance internal tax team interactions, strengthen cross functional communications, and to develop third party networks.
As a member of the tax management team, you'll mentor and coach others, support their professional development, and collaborate on hiring decisions and performance management. You'll demonstrate leadership in motivating employees and building team spirit and consensus.
To ensure that we continue to hire competent, ethical, trustworthy individuals, all candidates must successfully complete a thorough background investigation prior to receiving any offer of employment from Nike.
Responsibilities for this position include:
* Bachelor's degree in Business or related field, with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance required.
* CPA and Advanced Degree preferred
* Minimum of 5 years of compliance experience in corporate taxation in a large corporate and/or public accounting environment.
* Demonstrable experience in federal tax law including filing large consolidated federal returns.
* Excellent tax research and verbal and written communication skills.
* Outstanding project management skills.
* Advanced computer skills including experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook is required.
* Experience with SAP and Corptax software is highly desirable.
* Prior supervisory experience is desired.
* Ability to pass a 7 year background check
Interested yet? Good. Us too. We're pretty sure you'll want to know we offer one of the most generous benefits packages around. Things like a stock purchase plan, a 401(k) retirement plan, casual work environment, childcare and a host of other perks we don't have room to mention here.
We're interested in learning more about you and appreciate you taking the time to apply online.
