REQUIREMENTS:
* 4 years of web design and development experience, primarily focused on web strategy, content development, planning, analysis and execution
* Skills in expert-level web page development
* Technical knowledge and skills to develop web pages, including coding HTML and XHTML, using web development software such as Dreamweaver, creating and maintaining XML, RSS and SQL databases, and designing user interfaces
* Advanced knowledge of content and web content management technologies, protocols and development tools
* Knowledge of and experience with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to improve web site traffic
* Organizational and task / project management skills
* Interpersonal, facilitation and written communication skills to provide responsive customer service in person, in the field, on the telephone, through e-mail and web, and in group or team environments
* Skills to analyze and interpret a variety of data pertaining to web server usage and web page development, including current knowledge and capacity to research and process information from the Internet, web sites, CD-ROMs, manuals, and a variety of other resources
* Experience supervising professional staff
* Understanding of basic marketing fundamentals, market segmentation and persuasive writing
* Familiarity with web role in the marketing and communications environment
PREFERRED (NOT REQUIRED):
* A Bachelor's degree in computer science
* MIS experience
* Web development / Design certifications
JOB DUTIES:
* Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Team and senior staff to establish and implement web policies and standards (including brand standards) and recommend new web tools and approaches to support a university's strategic objectives
* Create and lead the implementation of a comprehensive web strategy to support external communications and set the overall direction for the web site
* Provide expert technical consultation, leadership and project management for the continuing development and maintenance of the school's web presence in support of recruitment, marketing, fundraising and community outreach activities with focus on the external web presence
* Design and maintain campus web pages that communicate with, support and serve external communities
* Work with campus IT leaders to support a strong web site
* Provide technical support, consultation and direction for authorized web contributors
* Supervise professional and student staff
* Apply a high level of independent judgment in developing procedures and policies for web page development
* Work collaboratively and as a member of various teams to provide leadership and guidance pertaining to the school's web presence
* Create clear, concise technical computer documentation; train clients and other staff on complex issues relating to the development of web pages and web-based applications, either individually, in a group setting, or through a variety of electronic media
* Research and become rapidly familiar with changing or new technologies
* Other duties as required
HOURS: Full-time; exact schedule to be arranged.
PAY: $42,000 per year. This is a benefits-eligible position.
