Job Summary:  REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor Degree in accounting from a fully accredited college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in progressively more responsible accounting functions.
* 5 years of hands on accounting experience in a corporate environment
* Knowledge of principles, practices, theories and methods of accounting
* Knowledge of legal requirements, regulations and laws applicable to area of assignment
* Strong Microsoft Office skills (particularly Word and Excel, with advanced skill in Excel)
* Proficiency with database software
* Strong customer service skills, the skill to communicate effectively and professionally with supervisors, peers and other departments

PREFERRED:
* Experience with Timberline software

JOB DUTIES:
* Prepare, input and post journal entries to monthly general ledgers
* Perform general ledger account reconciliations
* Enter daily cash balances
* Reconcile bank statements to general ledger balances
* Prepare workers compensation, monthly premium reports and annual reconciliations for auditors
* Process salaried employee payroll, including entering time records, updating pay rates, benefits, garnishment and tax deductions, and distributing checks
* Work closely with the Human Resources Department to ensure salaried employees are paid according to the employment agreements and all payroll transactions are in compliance with company policies and procedures
* Maintain salaried attendance records including tracking of vacation and sick leave time
* Prepare payroll tax deposits for payment
* Keep abreast of payroll / tax related federal/state laws, requirements, and updates
* Provide back-up for accounts receivable duties including bank deposits
* Reconcile 401k payments made to Plan Administrator with salaried and hourly payroll data
* Perform special projects as assigned
