Job Summary:
Requirements: Cover letter, Curriculum Vitae and transcripts. Master's degree in Spanish or a closely related field with graduate concentration in Spanish. One year of full - time college instruction at the beginning level of Spanish or its equivalent. Bilingual in English - Spanish.
Employer Preferences: Multicultural experience and bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Asian languages.
Job Duties: Provide high quality instruction to students taking first and second year Spanish courses. Teach first or second year college level Spanish language courses in a program that utilizes a communicative - cognitive approach to second language acquisition. Work collaboratively to deliver Spanish language instruction in the classroom and in the lab. Write Spanish and English at an advanced level of proficiency and speak fluently in both languages. Communicate effectively and respectfully, and work productively with staff and students from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds including, but not limited to: students of color, bilingual students, international students, students from various cultures, life long learners, and students with disabilities. Hours: Part - time position. Work based on division needs.
Language skill requirement or preference: Proficiency in English - Spanish required for performace of instructor positon duties.
