REQUIRES: Associates degree in Diesel Technology, or a related field, and five-years Ag and heavy equipment service experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Obtain lift truck operator certification. Proficiency with MS Office applications and Mainframe Caterpillar applications. Read and interpret technical materials and service bulletins as needed. Ability to work in all weather conditions, in shop environments. Regularly work around moving mechanical parts, as well as environments where noise, heat, and chemicals are present. Maintain a tool inventory sufficient to perform assigned tasks. Possess valid Class "B" CDL: and DOT Medical Card and maintain a satisfactory driving record.

DUTIES: Performs service activities in the main service shop and in the field on agricultural equipment for customer and / or sales and rental fleet equipment. Also performs service work in the main shop on heavy duty equipment and / or truck engines as directed by the Shop Service Supervisor. Includes: Analyze and diagnose equipment malfunctions. Pre-delivery setup and installation on all makes and models of agricultural equipment. Performs service work in the main shop on Caterpillar and other heavy equipment. Repair, replace or rebuild engines, transmissions, fuel systems, final drives, steering clutches, cross-shafts, hydraulic components including pumps, motors, valves, and all related components, electrical and air systems. Write service reports that accurately document activities. Prepare required documentation including work orders, parts lists, and time cards in an accurate and timely manner to enable other employees to do their job in a timely manner. Perform assigned tasks in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner. Follow manufacture and company service guidelines and procedures to ensure quality work and to preserve and document component failure information for accurate failure analysis. Move and maneuver material and equipment weighing 50-pounds, standing, walking, and bending. Other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
HOURS: Full-time, days. Work overtime as needed.
PAY: $20.86 to $23.23 per hour, depending on experience. Benefits.
