About Us:
La Grande Weather Service, Inc. (LGDWS) is a business that forecasts for the Anthony Lakes Ski Area as well as local northeast Oregon. LGDWS uses the top forecasting models and latest forecasting capabilities to forecast the weather for the ski area which poses particular difficulties. All of LGDWS staff is voluntary and no staff member will be compensated for their work. Therefore, you make your own schedule.
Requirements:
Anybody applying for this position must be a degree meteorologist with at least a BS in atmospheric sciences OR a current meteorology student at an accredited college or be studying courses online at MetEd.
Description:
The Fire Weather Forecaster will be in charge of issuing a daily fire weather forecast for a defined area by the meteorologist in charge. Also, if forecaster is capable of, 1-2 updates on the forecast--especially when dangerous conditions exist. They were also be in charge of issuing any need fire weather-related alerts.
